NIBM GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATION

President of India Addresses the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of NIBM

The National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) was set up in September 1969 and complete 50 years of its existence with significant contributions in the banking and financial sector in September 2019.

The start-off event was held on the Foundation Day of the Institute on September 24, 2018. Onset of the Golden Jubilee year was marked by the release of Special Covers and Customised My Stamp (Gateway of India) from Department of Post, Government of India. 

This was followed by a series of events and finally concluded with the successful conduct of the Golden Jubilee Celebration at the Institute on February 12, 2020 in the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble President of India. 

Hon’ble President Shri Ram Nath Kovind was the Chief Guest for the event. The Governor, Government of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari was the guest of honour and Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor, Reserve Bank of India and Chairman, NIBM Governing Board, presided over the function. Other VIP dignitaries included RBI's Deputy Governors and Executive Directors, Heads and Directors of various banks and financial institutions who also participated in the celebrations.

The guests witnessed the Corporate Film on the Journey of NIBM, specially prepared for the occasion of the Golden Jubilee.  This followed some of the key events were - (i) Unveiling of NIBM Golden Jubilee Logo by the Honourable President of India, (ii) Release of Coffee Table Book by the Honourable Governor, Maharashtra and presentation of first copy to The Honourable President of India and (iii) Presentation of Customized Stamp on NIBM by Governor RBI to The Honourable President of India.

The Honourable President of India visited the Pavilion on the Contribution by the Banks in the area of Financial Inclusion, Women Empowerment, Adoption of Villages, Digital Payments etc.  

The NIBM Governing Board, Director and all employees of NIBM had the photo opportunity with Honourable President of India and the first lady, which will be a moment to cherish for a long time for all. 

The Day’s event concluded with Sapling plantation by The Honourable President of India near the Auditorium.  This was a life time event for all employees to be proud to be associated with this apex institution.

With the Institute’s fifty years of accomplishments, the Institute placed its pledge to pursue excellence at National and International level in imparting training, research, infusing innovative ideas in banking as well as non-banking financial sector.
